Day 1: Departure Day - Monday, June 30, 2025
We’re off! We said goodbye to our families and had an easy and smooth trip to JFK. Group check in with Lufthansa was quick and straightforward. We sailed smoothly through TSA and everyone had about an hour to fill up water bottles, get snacks, etc before we boarded our flight. The flight ended up being delayed by almost an hour, but our German pilot made up time in the air and we had a nearly on time arrival. Germans value punctuality! The Frankfurt airport was mostly empty at 5:30 AM, so our trip through immigration, baggage claim and customs was quick as well. From the airport, our chartered bus took us to Frankfurt City….more on our adventures here from the day’s designated bloggers! Tschüss! Bis bald!
